How long will the Artemis mission last?
The SLS rocket will launch the uncrewed Orion spacecraft on an approximately 26-day mission, during which it will spend six days orbiting the moon before returning to Earth. Artemis 1 is currently scheduled to launch no earlier than late May 2022, from Launch Complex 39B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Is Artemis still on schedule?
Artemis II is currently scheduled to launch in May 2024. It will be the first crewed mission to leave Earth's low orbit in the 21st century, following in the flight path of Apollo 17, which made the trip in 1972.
Is Artemis rocket reusable?
We've seen companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin move toward reusable launch vehicles, but the SLS is a classic single-use rocket. The Artemis 1 mission is uncrewed, but it will still spend one of the Artemis Program's lavishly expensive rockets.
Is Artemis 1 reusable?
The booster and most variants of the spacecraft are fully reusable. The system will be used to launch Starship HLS to LEO as its second stage. Super Heavy will also be used for multiple fueling missions, launching fully reusable tanker Starship spacecraft to LEO to refuel Starship HLS for its transit to the Gateway.
